In my oipoinn, you can ask your bridesmaids to pay for their own dress and shoes aslong as you make sure its something they can wear again. I hate the idea of paying a lot of money for a dress that will be thrown to the back of a closet, so why not have a talk with your bridesmaids and say they can pick their own dress but make sure its whatever colour you want. That way, you get to save money and they get to wear the outfit as many times as they would like. Another thing you can do is, instead of buying them jewellery to wear and a thank you gift, but them jewellery to wear on the day as their gift. Then they all match and it saves you a little bit of money.
